I think for an entrepreneur, hiring people is a risk. Small and medium-sized businesses have this challenge, especially in the accounting realm. You need somebody you can completely trust. When you don’t have accurate books, or there’s confusion around some of the financials in your business, it’s a really tense situation because you just don’t know what the truth is. And getting a really good controller or CFO can be expensive.

It was great to come across Nimbl because I needed craftspeople. I didn’t know how to hire those folks or how to find them. I had tried and hadn’t had that much success. Nimbl is able to select those people, pre-train them, and deploy them right away.

I felt like they completely understood my needs. They immediately said, “We can solve your problem,” and that felt really good. Knowing there was this caliber of individual who could work on my accounts and guide me, and that those people were pre-vetted, was a life changer for me.

To grow a business, you need to tell a story using your financials. It’s a story, and the story is in the spreadsheet. Anybody who might want to invest, other partners, transactions you need to make: you really need all of that information buttoned up.

Once I had that, I was able to do an exit. I now work for the company that acquired us, so for me it’s been a fantastic outcome.

To somebody considering working with Nimbl, I’d say don’t hesitate. I’ve even introduced some of my own entrepreneurial friends to their firm. The acceleration and the accuracy are a fantastic relief to a small or medium business.
